The CQCS Insurtech & Innovation, which is scheduled to take place on November 23rd and 24th, in São Paulo, will honor – and recognize – professionals in the market who helped to innovate the sector. The event will feature 5 honorees: Antônio Carlos de Almeida Braga, Abrahão Garfinkel, Armando Vergílio, Mário Petrelli and Nilton Molina.
Antonio Carlos de Almeida Braga, or “Braguinha”, as he was called by many, is a reference when it comes to innovation in the insurance market. So much so that, since 2011, CNseg has promoted the Antonio Carlos de Almeida Braga Award, to distinguish innovative actions by insurance professionals, insurance brokers and service providers in the sector.
Braguinha was the owner of one of the largest insurance companies in the country, Atlântica Seguros, which later became Atlântica-Boavista. Under his command, Atlântica-Boavista was incorporated by Banco Bradesco in the 1980s, and was renamed Bradesco Seguros.
For Luciano Snel, CEO of Icatu, Antônio Carlos de Almeida Braga is a reference for the insurance market, in addition to having contributed to the country’s economy and development. “With his innovative and very inspiring vision for business, he was one of the great enthusiasts of our segment. And, without a doubt, the Icatu Group, founded by their children, carries their DNA and passion for people. We admire and foster within Icatu its courage, its look to the future and, above all, its passion in everything it did in favor of a fairer society”, said the executive.
Gustavo Doria Filho, founder of CQCS, highlights that Insurtech & Innovation is an innovation event that has a deep respect for history. “For this reason, we take great care in honoring people who have contributed to the development of the insurance market or our journey in innovation,” he said.
Therefore, underscores the founder of CQCS, the decision to use the event to honor a special group of innovators who have special histories in the insurance market.
