Solange Vieira, Susep Superintendent, confirms attendance at CQCS Insurtech & Inovation 2020
The Superintendent of the Private Insurance Superintendency (SUSEP), Solange Vieira, has confirmed that she will be at the next edition of CQCS Insurtech & Inovação. The first woman to hold the position since the council was created in 1966 has been transforming the insurance industry with innovation-focused management.
Among the new features implemented this year are the change in the auto insurance rule, allowing the use of used or non-original parts; and a standard authorizing the sale of insurance with reduced contract duration and pay per use.
The most recent measure was the decision to no longer regulate the Insurance Broker category. Thus, Susep will no longer be responsible for authorizing Brokers, accrediting and disbelieving, but the municipality will establish, along with class representatives, the rules for this self-regulation.
Another important decision - taken by the government but supported by Susep - was the end of DPVAT. The municipality believes that the extinction should allow the development of new products aimed at treating the victims of traffic accidents, possibly at a lower cost than previously offered.
In addition, Susep also prepares a regulatory sandbox, which will allow the emergence of new business models, with a reflection on the offer of higher quality products and services.
Another theme for next year is the merger between the Superintendency of Private Insurance (Susep) and the National Superintendence of Supplementary Pension (Previc). The creation of the “super autarchy”, with R $ 1.9 trillion of resources under supervision, was postponed due to social security and tax reforms, treated as a priority by the government.
With so much news being supported by Susep this year and set for 2020, Solange Vieira will surely be one of the main attractions of Latin America's most relevant insurance innovation meeting. The CQCS Insurtech & Innovation will be held on June 17 and 18, at the Pro Magno Event Center, in São Paulo.
